As a Houston native with a deep-rooted love for the Pacific Islands, my journey as a hula dancer began at the age of five. I was fortunate to train in various hālau (hula schools) before becoming a dedicated student at Hālau Hula Olana in Pearl City, Hawai‘i, under the esteemed guidance of Kumu Hula Howard and Olana Ai. My foundation was first shaped by their daughter, Natalie Ai Kamauu—Miss Aloha Hula 1990, a five-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner, and Grammy Award-winning artist.
In addition to hula, I have trained extensively in Tahitian dance, studying under Perle Renvoye, Heiva I Tahiti 2018 winner, and now under Kanani Asuega, 2019 ‘Ori Tahiti World Champion. Most recently, I had the privilege of performing for four-time Grammy Award-winning artist Kalani Pe‘a—an experience that reinforced my passion for perpetuating Polynesian culture through music and dance.
Inspired by the rich heritage of the Pacific, I founded South Seas Productions to share the beauty of these traditions with a broader audience. The name reflects the vast cultural tapestry of the South Pacific, embracing not just one island but the many cultures that make up this vibrant region. It also honors the legacy of those who once journeyed across the South Seas, carrying their traditions forward—just as we do today.
I am proud to establish South Seas Productions in Houston, a city that has given me so much. My mission is to serve the community through cultural education and entertainment, bringing authenticity and Aloha to every performance, class, and event. No opportunity is ever too big or small—every moment to share this heritage is a gift. I stand as a vessel for the wisdom passed down to me, and I am committed to continuing this journey with humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of purpose.
